How to use the "Analyze Games - Betting Lines" tool to analyze a team's record:
How to use the "Analyze Games - Standard" tool to analyze a team's record:
Step 1: Select a season to analyze (default is current season) and either a specific team or leave "All Teams" selected to look
at results for all NBA team (this would be helpful if you want to look at overall Over/Under results are Home/Away spread results). If you select a specific
team, you will have the option to either look at all games for the team, just home games, or just away games. You then have the option to set a team
spread variable (you must check off the bost "Apply Team Spread Parameter" to apply this). For example, if you set selected team spread to less than 0
and check the box, you will see results for when that team was favored. If you were to set the team spread to greater than 4.5, you would see all results
for when that team was at least a 5 point underdog, etc.
Step 2: You can filter games by setting either a total, home spread, or away spread that must be met. For example, if you have "All Teams" selected in step 1
and set the "Filter data by" option to "Total greater than 230", you will see results for all games where the over/under total for that game was greater than 230 (230.5 and up).
If you wanted to see results for all games where the home team was favored you would set "Filter data by" to "Home Spread less than 0".
Step 3: Choose what you would like to see graphical results for. For example, if you select "Show Total Over/Under Results" it will display a chart showing
how many overs and unders there are in the data set that matches your selections. Note: if you have a specific team selected, that teams ATS(against the spread) and
straight up record within your data set selections will be automatically displayed.
Step 4: Select a date range to see results within. Default start date is set to the first date of the regular season and end date is set to the current date.
Step 1: Select a player from the drop down of player names.
Step 2: Select a prop category to analyze (Points+Rebounds+Assists, Points, or Rebounds, etc.) and a number to compare against. For example, set it to
"Points O/U 20.5" to see what percentage of the games a given player's point total goes over or under 20.5.
Step 3: Select a start and end date to analyze a player's game data between.
